Day in Review - What Would Pippa Do?

I want to start this post by saying a huge "THANK YOU!" to all of the people who shared my last post with their friends. I really think it's important to pay attention when you are out and about getting funky and dancing like a rock star....or like Pippa Middleton....

I have become a mini-celebrity on the Facebook page of the establishment where the incident went down.  I made a post about watching your drinks...it was deleted about an hour later, but in the mean time I have gotten several messages asking about the situation and they made a post on their wall about sleazy guys and keeping your drinks close to you.

I have to say...it was very strange to lose time like that.  Even up to yesterday I was a bit confused about what the date was.  Luckily my mother reminded me about Mother's Day on Sunday! I thought I still had another week.  Speaking of my mother...I will make a quick segue to the Palin family....so who has seen Bristol's face lift?  If she even tries to deny it I will dress up as a clown and walk through Public Square...well wait..we KNOW she is going to deny it, but COME ON!!!!  She looks like she used the same surgeon as Kenny Rogers did.  Jennifer Grey anyone?????

Another thing I miss when I was "not of this world" (though I can't really say where I was!) was the capture of Osama Bin Laden. I have to say, my mom was hilarious...she called me on Tuesday just to make sure I knew about it...honestly though, I had no idea it had happened until midway through my Monday morning! I was PISSSSSSSSED! Not because of it happening, of course, but because I wasn't privy to the breaking news!  For someone who is a humongous news buff, missing the biggest news story of the decade really hurt.

Another thing I didn't get a chance to mention was my feelings on the royal wedding.  I laughed....at Beatrice's hat....I cried....at the ceremony...and I almost threw up....again, at Beatrice's hat...(they kept showing it).  I admit, I have always been a huge royal fan...I cried when Princess Diana passed away. This was a big day for me and luckily I didn't miss it.  Chloe was a little angry with me though, since I made her get up with me and made her wear a little tiara.  I thought that was a fabulous idea and was going to send the pictures to the Today Show...until I saw 500 pictures of people who had made THEIR dogs wear tiara's too....so I erased them all, sulked and watched the festivities for about 5 hours...

The final thing I need to say is about "Glee"....I know, I know, some of you don't watch it, but seriously...I don't know if I have become more  compassionate or more "feeling" since I was "out of my mind", but it seriously broke my little heart when Santana was singing to Brittany....I don't know why I love them together so much.  I am also a big Finchel fan, so I am of course seeing the potential of them getting back together....Fondue For Two was HILARIOUS!!!!!!

Ok...signing off for now...I have a few things to do before my favorite Thursday night show "True Crime with Aphrodite Jones".

Day in Review - Ok...Month in Review...

Is anyone out there?  I am here...silently sneaking in for a blog post. I finally have a bit of time where I am not working or watching "Glee"....though I may watch an episode tonight before bed.

I have been really fighting a cold too, which has made me really loopy. More so than most days anyway. I also feel some kind of weirdness in the air...almost like things aren't exactly as they seem. My Lifetime Horoscope suggests it may be because Neptune has entered Pisces and is bringing about change. It could also just be a haziness brought upon by Nyquil and Tylenol Cold & Sinus. When I am sick like this, though admittedly feeling much better than I have been, all I want to do is go to bed...which is weird since I am a self diagnosed insomniac.

Oh, by the way, if you are looking for one of my trademark funny posts, you probably won't get it today.  My mind is just kind of out of it. Neptune, Nyquil or maybe the writing  jobs I have had lately have just made my mind a little foggy. All I can think of is energy savings, Earth Day and weight loss, all little books or article I have written this week.

I went on a date last Monday. I had been talking to this guy for a few weeks. (If you are friends with me on Facebook, you know what happened.) Long story short, in typical Christa fashion, the date started with me at one bar and him on the other side of town at a bar with the same name. As it is hard to have a date at two different bars, I went to the other bar to meet him. I looked really good, was feeling confident and excited to meet this guy, since we had really clicked over the phone. Unfortunately this is not what happened in face to face interactions. The first real conversation we had after our greetings was about who he thinks women rely on men too much and men shouldn't be expected to pay for everything when they go out. This went on to a conversation about how he broke up with his ex-girlfriend because she has student loans.  He was very concerned about money and credit scores and the like. The date ended with me paying for my own drinks and him saying he will call later in the week and had a good time...no call...

I have two more guys on deck, so we'll see what happens.

As a side note, as I am writing this, I am laying on my couch watching "Snapped". There is a woman on there and since I am not really paying total attention to it, I just happened to glance over at the TV and without hearing anything about her or hearing her talk, I thought to myself...."I bet she's from Kentucky"....just based on how she looked...sure enough...Louisville.  I think it's because she looks like my freshman year roommate.  Bridgette...
I made a personal vow not to go to Kentucky due to Rand Paul being elected, but I may change my mind.

Back to post - I have been really into music these past two weeks too. I can't really pin point where it started but it's like I can't get enough. I never thought I would find someone who I felt sang as well or as soulfully as Alicia Keys, but Adele has got to come close. Seriously...watch her video for "Rolling in the Deep". It won't let me link to it but I dare you to watch it and not be affected by it...at the very least tapping your foot. The sword dancer in that video is brilliant and I can't stop watching it. It makes me want to learn to dance...

Speaking of dancing, I did lose a toenail last week as well. For some reason I jumped back on the Brittney train and have been listening to a lot of Brittney Spears. I have been a fan for years, but definitely go through stages. I will be the first to admit her music is highly produced and tuned, but girl can dance...well she used to be able to. I am getting off topic though...I was dancing...to "Toxic"...coordinating my own moves.  I thought it would be good exercise...unfortunately I got too close to the couch and bye-bye baby toe nail. Well, the toe nail didn't fall off then, it took a few days. Alas, it's gone.
Mom, do you think they are implants?  HER TEETH, PEOPLE!  We know her boobs are fake!

I have been scouring for new-to-me artists to listen to. Most I don't like...one of them fell into my lap randomly the other day and I loved her! Rachael Owens is her name.
She has a few videos up on her YouTube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/RachaelOwens
I am looking forward to more. Check her out.

Is anyone else as pissed as I am that  Bristol Frickin Palin made a quarter million dollars last year preaching abstinence after she got knocked up in high school? Um...if you have a baby, obviously you were not abstinent!  Ugh...I said Palin, now I need a shot or something...maybe a double Nyquil dose....

Special Edition....The Excerpts

Breaking News Peeps!

I was able to get my hands on some of the excerpts of Bristol Palin's upcoming "memoir". (Yes, memoir is in quotes for a reason)

These snippets are the raw writings of Ms. Palin, unedited and according to the source, did not make it into the final copy, but worth a read...

(I could have edited the grammar and spelling, but I feel it is important for all to see the true form of this "memoir")

“I remember the first time I noticed how hot Levi was. He was walking through the Wasilla High School cafeteria holding a tray of food. It was mooseburger day.  I had known him for awhile, but on this day, I saw him in a different light. I started writing “Mrs. Bristol Johnston” on my notebooks.  I liked that my initials would be BJ.”

“That group of girls that was always so mean to me were just jealous that their mom’s weren’t the Governor of our state. They would call me and Willow the “Pugnacious Palins”. They were in there AP English class when I had Pre-Algebra. I don’t know what pugnacious means, but I will ask my mom when she gets back from the elk hunt.”

“I am pregnant. I don’t know how to tell my mom and dad. Track got a girl pregnant and they made him join the army. I don’t want to join the army. Levi has been supportive. He is already working on plans for building a cabin. We live in Alaska so we can hunt and gather and live off the land with our baby. We will get married. I will finally be Bristol Johnston and people can call me BJ. I will have to think of a name that starts with “T” if it’s a boy. We have a tradition in our family that all males must have “T” names. Oh no...I just realized my mom and I are pregnant at the same time. I hope we don’t pick the same “T” name.”

“So Sarah and Todd were NOT happy with my announcement of being knocked up. You have never heard a worst screeching sound than Sarah Palin when she gets angry.  Luckily Levi was with me and held my hand. We will be together forever, so I don’t know what they are worried about. Sure, we are a little young, but I think her saying we would lose the Presidential campaign for her and John McCain is a little far-fetched. “

“I just found out I would be on Dancing With the Stars! I am so proud of myself!  I am going to show the world that a high school dropout/single mother/Tea Party Spawn can make something of themselves.  Some people say I don’t matter...but they aren’t on Dancing With the Stars so they can kiss my ass. I am a star, I am famous.  They are still living in Wasilla in their trailor.”
